Truck Driver Training
Our training class is held Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Night classes are also available 4:00pm-6:30pm Both classes consist of the same 160 hour Class “A” CDL truck driver training curriculum.
We also offer a 120 hour Class B Program.
field training
When enrolled in our Omaha driving school you will train in a conventional tractor with a 53′ dry van trailer. You will begin driving soon after starting class, spending part of each day in the classroom and the remainder in the field. Hands on training will include driving in downtown, urban, industrial, and interstate situations. Students will practice backing skills as well as vehicle inspection skills. These are real world driving and backing situations, not simulations on a closed course. Custom Diesel has Third Party examiners to administer your road test and the basic control skills test on site. Our equipment is available for truck driver testing. If you require additional training, a reasonable amount will be provided at no additional cost.
classroom training
The classroom portion of the course prepares you for the General Knowledge, Combination Vehicle, Air Brake, Doubles/Triples, Tank Vehicle, and Hazardous Materials written exams at the Department of Motor Vehicles. We will cover the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Regulations governing the truck driver, logging (hours of service regulations), trip planning, map reading, and various other safety and operational materials.
